The core rights and obligations of the receiving state as provided for in the Revised Treaty of Chaguaramas in respect of persons moving to provide services temporarily allow for:

Obligations

 

The right to deny a CARICOM National recognition for the purpose of conducing gainful economic activity if the Services Provider certificate is found to be invalid or not authentic.

The Right to deny a CARICOM National entry into a particular sector or industry if such industry or sector is on an exceptions list, or under Articles 47

 

To ensure the absence of any restrictions on entry into any services sector except where excluded under the Programme for the Removal of Restrictions

 

The right to verify the validity or authenticity of any contract/letter of invitation extension used as the basis for application for an extension of stay

  To treat authorised services providers from CSME Member States no less favourably than nationals of the receiving country or those from any other country
  The right to refuse extension of stay in absence of a contract/letter of invitation extension or if the contract extension/letter of invitation is invalid or not authentic in any way   To facilitate non-discriminatory access to land/building and other property for purposes directly related to the provision of services
      To extend the stay of a legitimate service provider from a CSME Member State (within 10 days) if they have a valid extension of contract/letter of invitation
